Instructors can set tasks for students within a Blackboard course. Students can also add tasks to Blackboard, which only they can view.

To View Tasks Posted by Your Instructor

1. In the Course page, click on the Tools button in the Navigation Bar.
2. Click the Tasks link.
3. If you have any tasks assigned to you, they will appear in the next window.

• To mark a task In Progress, click the words Not Started next to the Task in the Task list.
• To mark an In Progress task as completed, click the words In Progress.
• To move a Task up or down in the list of Tasks, click the red or gray arrows next to the Task's name.

To Add Your Own Task

1. Click the Add Task button.
2. Enter a name for the task in the Task Title box.
3. Enter a description for the task in the Description box.
4. Select a due date for the task. (To select the due date from a calendar view, click the Select the Date button and select a due date from the Calendar dialog box.)
5. In the Task Options section, click the arrows on the Priority  and Status boxes and select options.
6. Click the Submit button and then click the OK button.

Note: Click the Modify or Remove button next to the task name to modify or remove tasks you have created.
