Course Description:
Students must have a current Oregon, Washington, Idaho or reciprocal state electrical license. This online course from Bluevolt meets requirements for both 8 hours and 4 hours of Code Change (CC) coursework for licensed electricians in Oregon until December 31, 2003. This course is approved for 8 hours of Code Related (CR) coursework for licensed electricians in Oregon for 2004. This course is approved for 8 hours of Code Update credit in Washington (WA 2003-190) and for 8 hours of Code Related credit in Idaho (ID-02-123). This course will cover 2002 NEC Changes and any state specific modifications to the 2002 NEC. Students will gain a greater familiarity with the NEC, a clearer understanding of specific articles within the NEC, guidance in applying 2002 NEC Changes, the ability to identify applications and implement 2002 NEC Changes and familiarity with any state modifications to the 2002 NEC. Participants will receive feedback on their progress in meeting the course learning objectives at several points in the course through the use of quizzes. Each participant's final progress in meeting the course learning objectives will be evaluated based on a comprehensive final examination. Participants must receive a score of 70% on the comprehensive final exam to receive a pass grade for the course. Students will be e-mailed (Oregon and Idaho) or mailed (Washington) a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course. The college will maintain a permanent transcript of each student's participation in the course and will also report each participant's successful completion of the course to the Oregon Building Codes Division, Washington Department of Labor and Industries-Electrical Section, or Idaho Division of Building Safety-Electrical Bureau. Students are not required to come to campus to participate in this course. Prerequisite: Current Oregon, Washington, Idaho or reciprocal state electrical license.
