Weight Relationships

The weight relationships in a chemical reaction can be determined from a balanced equation for that reaction. Once those weight relationships have been determined the weights of elements needed to synthesize any given amount of that compound can be calculated. Similarly, the weights of elements formed by the decomposition of any given amount of that compound can also be calculated. In addition, the weight of a compound that can be made from specified amounts of elements can be calculated once the limiting reagent in the reaction has been determined. The pages listed here review how to do these calculations.
