Nucleic Acids

So, now let's turn our attention to nucleic acids, first we will consider DNA. DNA is the chemical source of genetic properties or information. It determines characteristics and processes and it does so apparently through control of which proteins are formed. The nature of this information is in the sequence of units that are called nucleotides.  In the following sections you will discover the structure of the nucleic acids and also study the processes they undergo.
