The following workshops are available by request. If you are interested in any of the workshops listed, or if there is a topic you do not see listed but would like assistance with, please contact Joel Sheller (joels@clackamas.edu) with the following information:
Note: the workshops are organized by topics, beginning with Blackboard-specific Blackboard Workshops, then software-specific Technology Tools Workshops, and ending with Online Teaching Workshops that focus on pedagogy for teaching.
Open-Lab explanation: we have added some "Open-Labs" slots to our Workshop Schedule. If you are interested in attending an Open-Lab, please include the topic you'd like to focus on so that the Schedule can be updated.
Intended for faculty and staff that are new to the Blackboard content-management system, this workshop will go over the most commonly used features of Blackboard 6. We will look at the basic layout of Blackboard, and most aspects of creating a course, such as adding course documents, creating discussion boards, online testing, grading, and more. Learn to use Respondus, a tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed or published directly to Blackboard. Respondus is preferable to using the built-in tools in Blackboard, and can save you time converting tests you already have entered to a Blackboard-compatible format. We'll look at three kinds of interactivity -- student-to-content, student-to-instructor, and student-to-student -- and discuss criteria for when to use each.
