Our Vision and Mission
The goal of the Distance Learning Department at Clackamas is
to be proactive and innovative in developing and supporting quality
online education. To accomplish this we:
- Lead in efforts to create instruction that is effective and
efficient in use of resources;
- Promote outcome-based student learning;
- Provide Blackboard support and training;
- Provide technology and instructional design services to faculty.

Instructional Design Workshops and 1-1 consultation
• Writing objectives and student outcomes.

• Evaluation of course designs.
• Searching for and evaluating online resources for use
in your course.
• Organizing online content and resources.
Training & Software Support
• Blackboard (Online course management software).
• Contribute (Used to update web pages without the need
for HTML).
• Respondus (Used to create online quizzes using multiple
question types).
• Inspiration (Used for computer-based concept mapping).
• Photoshop Elements (Used for creating and editing digital
images).
• Photoshop Premier Elements (Used for creating and editing
digital video).
